I Thomas Hobbes am a philosopher. I have dedicated my time to studying human nature. Over the time I have been studying human nature. I began in the 17th Century and then disappeared and had myself frozen for a experiment so I could view the changes of human nature over time.
You may be wondering what I mean by human nature. Human nature is the instinct of "default settings" for the way people function. From my research it's shown that people in a state of nature were essentials are scarce those people will think only for their own survival and are willing to do what ever it takes to come out on top.
In a world where there is imbalance and a struggle for the scarcities you must find a way to remove that temptation. Using a third party you can have one party have the job to simply control us and keep us in line. Though the third party is human and may desire more and become corrupt the chaos without a third party would far exceed in severity of the issue.
The "social contract" is the core of keeping structure. The social contract says that for security you have to give away some of your freedom. So in the social contract the third party takes away your freedom to fight for the scarcities and therefore less fighting means you will be safer and then gives you better security. The social contract is not there because people want it it's there because the nature of humans makes it mandatory to keep people safe.
